Museo di Roma in Trastevere
Viaggio nel celebre rione, tra testimonianze e memorie di chi ancora ci vive e le iniziative che ne hanno rianimato la vita culturale e sociale negli ultimi anni.
La mostra incentrata da un lato sulle testimonianze di 28 testimoni guida residenti od operanti nel rione (abitanti, gestori di bar e ristoranti storici, artigiani, e noti artisti, registi, scrittori e giornalisti…) che vengono illustrate visivamente da una serie eterogenea di materiali scovati nelle loro case o botteghe (foto, quadri, disegni, sculture, oggetti, lettere, libri, documenti, ecc) e raccolte in un video documentario che sarà proiettato a loop nel museo.
In un’altra sezione, denominata “Rimembranze”, l’attenzione è spostata anche su varie iniziative che negli ultimi anni hanno rianimato la vita culturale e sociale del rione: quelle dei “ragazzi del Cinema America Occupato”, della factory di illustratori operanti in via Bertani, dai progetti ideati e curati da Kristin Jones per “piazza Tevere” (incluso fregio di Kentridge), del “Progetto Esthia” all’interno della Casa delle Donne o dei cittadini aderenti all’associazione per il decoro urbano “Trastevere Attiva”.

A travel in the famous district, between testimonies and memories of those who still live there and the initiatives that have revived their cultural and social life in recent years.
On the one hand, the exhibition focuses on the testimonies of 28 leading witnesses living or working in the neighborhood (inhabitants, managers of historic bars and restaurants, artisans, and well-known artists, directors, writers and journalists …) that are visually illustrated by a heterogeneous series of materials unearthed in their homes or shops (photos, paintings, drawings, sculptures, objects, letters, books, documents, etc.) and collected in a video documentary that will be looped into the museum.
In another section, called “Rimembranze”, the attention is also shifted to various initiatives that in recent years have revived the cultural and social life of the district: those of the “boys of the Cinema Occupied America”, the factory of illustrators operating in via Bertani, from the projects conceived and curated by Kristin Jones for “piazza Tevere” (including Kentridge frieze), of the “Esthia Project” inside the Casa delle Donne or citizens belonging to the association for the urban decoration “Trastevere Attiva” .
